Weston & Banwell Harriers, Crickham Farm, Wedmore, 24.09.22

On Saturday we teamed up with Somerset Sabs to sab a Weston & Banwell Harriers cubbing meet.

The hunt met at Crickham Farm, Wedmore, and spent the day blatantly cub hunting. For the first part of the morning they hunted a large maize field near Middle Stoughton, with riders and support positioned all around it to keep any foxes penned in to allow the hounds to get as many quick kills as possible during their vile ‘training’. Two foxes were seen by sabs and helped to safety and we kept an eye on hunt and hounds in the maize via the drone as well.

Giving up on the maize field, the huntsman hunted around Moor View Farm for an hour, with hounds not picking up on any scent, and headed back to the meet at around 9.30.

We faced the same tired nonsense from the hunt support. Sabs were attacked, driven at and manhandled off footpaths all morning. These kind of bullying tactics do nothing to put us off and this hunt can look forward to seeing a lot more sabs in future.

Thanks to the Somerset team for having us!
