Weston & Banwell Harriers with West Somerset Vale Hunt, Mark, 21.12.24

On the shortest day of the year we collectively sabbed the shortest huntsman in the country, Guy Landau, of the Weston & Banwell Harriers with West Somerset Vale Hunt, or W&BHWSVH for not much shorter.

After the damning drone footage recorded by sabs in October of a fox narrowly escaping the jaws of hounds, we showed up in solidarity to show the hunt they’re not welcome in our countryside. You can see the footage on day two of Chris Packham’s fox hunting crimes advent calendar.

The hunt met at the White Horse Inn in Mark, and hunted foxes on the flood plains south of the meet. Several foxes were seen to safety and sab teams intervened at every opportunity, despite assaults and threats of violence from the terriermen and confrontational whipper-in Paul Martin.

Great to take action with lots of lovely sabs from Mendip Hunt Sabs, Somerset Sabs, Bristol Hunt Saboteurs, West Midlands Hunt Saboteurs and Welsh Border Hunt Sabs. 🦊
