South Tetcott, Vearndon, 05.03.22

On Saturday we visited the South Tetcott who were meeting near their kennels at Vearndon, close to where we recently sabbed their joint meet with the North Cornwall. This was another gruelling day for sabs, with difficult, boggy terrain, hounds in and out of cry all day as well as aggression and violence from hunt thugs. See the below video.

The hunt started off drawing the valleys behind Vearndon before moving south where the huntsman drew a blank in the fields and valleys around Luffincott Wood. With the huntsman, redcoats and rest of the field gathered at the edge of the wood the pack picked up a scent and pursued it to Eastcott wood with the huntsman blatantly hunting on in front of sabs.

Hunt and hounds crossed the Tamar and spent the next half hour in a dense copse, with huntsman frantically hunting on from the top of the slope and sabs rating and scrambling to stop hounds from finding any wildlife sheltering in the dense undergrowth.

The frustrated huntsman finally gave up and headed back to Eastcott woods where visiting Lamerton terrierman Steve Mitchell started an assault on multiple sabs. Starting off by breaking the aerial of one of our radios then kicking another and choking a young female sab. Braindead yob Jake Crabb joined in, forcing a sab face down in a lake. All of this was in full view of the rest of the hunt, including some very young children of not more than 5 or 6 years old.

The footage speaks for itself. In this video, you will see Steve crying wolf about a radio aerial being “poked in his eye” (it wasn’t). Somehow this justified the prolonged strangulation of a female sab. You will see other sabs running to her aid and trying to remove Steve’s hands from her hood as she struggles to breathe.

As sabs left to continue to pursue the hunt, the adults leading these children forced their ponies to barge into sabs while shrieking about us “leaving their children alone”. We have seen some appaling behaviour from hunt scum, but this was another level of disgusting.

The hunt headed north to Tetcott Manor where a fox was seen breaking from one side of a copse while hounds were found marking a badger sett on the other. The last part of the day had hounds in dangerous long grass north of Belland where they picked up on a fox’s scent and chased it to ground, with sabs in the right place to guard the sett from lurking terrier men.

The hunt packed up at Lana with exhausted horses, hounds covered in blood and the fuming huntsman left gathering lost hounds.

If the South Tetcott were hunting within the law, why were they so desperate for us not to see what they’re up to? They have proven themselves to be violent thugs and liars, just like the rest.
