Eggesford Hunt, Inwardleigh, 20.01.25

On Monday 20th, the Eggesford Hunt met in Inwardleigh, so a team of us assembled to keep an eye on them.

We caught up to them lingering in the fields north of Stocken. Once they realised we were there, the supporters sheepishly left the valley and headed to the road. Two equipped quad bikes were following the hunt today, driven by Jake Crabb & Tom Leary, with the obvious intention of digging out.

They hunted and terrorised wildlife in the same locations as usual, Curworthy Wood & the valley between Ellmead, Narraton and Eastington farms. We checked several badger setts, and some were reassuringly still active despite the scarring from frequent dig-outs, and years of persecution during the badger cull. Following a meager Monday turnout the hunt packed up at Glebe Farm at 4pm.
